The Marla Serwin Memorial Melanoma Fund for Education
Marla Serwin was 55 years old when she passed away from melanoma in November, 2012. She fought long and hard, but with determination, hope and action that inspired her countless friends and colleagues. She never stopped living her life to the fullest, despite the increasingly difficult treatments her diagnosis required. In doing so, she reminded all those around her how valuable each of their own days are, and how much stronger spirit is than circumstance.
We honor Marla and keep her spirit alive with the creation of The Marla Serwin Memorial Melanoma Fund for Education. This fund will support IMPACT Melanoma’s education, prevention, and support programs. Marla’s family launched the fund at our annual gala, Shades of Hope, on November 22, 2013, with an initial gift. Marla’s husband and two daughters, Alexandra and Nicola, will also make a matching gift of up to $50,000 through December 31, 2013. Help us meet our match by making a donation today.
